The Latest on Beth Chapman’s Cancer Battle as ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Star Posts New Pic

“Dog the Bounty Hunter” star Beth Chapman is calling her battle with throat cancer the “ultimate test of faith.”

In late November, Beth was rushed to a hospital after developing a blockage in her throat. After emergency surgery, she learned her throat cancer had returned.

Chapman opened up about her health in a Mother’s Day speech at Source Church in Bradenton, Florida, on Sunday.

According to People, she told the crowd, “I don’t go to God and go, ‘Why did I get cancer?’ He’ll roll his eyes at me again, because I know why — because this is the ultimate test of faith. It is the evidence of things hoped for and it is the substance of things not known.”

Beth hinted she may have stopped chemotherapy treatments, explaining, “Chemotherapy is not my bag, people. Sorry, that’s not for me. So for me, this is the ultimate test of faith. This is my ultimate lesson. And it will either be taught to me or to you. And I am fine with taking the hit for everyone else. Because I think I know another guy who did the same thing.”

She also posed for Mother’s Day photos, with her stepson Leland Chapman. She wrote, “This guy had my laughing all weekend what a joy to be around thank you god for blessing me with such a kind young man #mothersday @lelandbchapman thank you for coming …”

Duane “Dog” Chapman shared a family photo on Instagram with Beth, Leland and daughter-in-law Jamie, writing, “We had an amazing Mother’s Day thank you to my son @lelandbchapman and @jamiepchapman for making the journey to be with us on mother’s day it meant so much… Mom did great.”

Back in January, the Chapmans’ attorney, Andrew R. Brettler of Lavely & Singer, told Us Weekly, “Beth started chemo for throat cancer last month. The treatments are in L.A. They are going well, but they certainly take their toll on her. The Chapmans have a lot on their plate right now. They just started filming for the new WGN show while Beth’s been going through treatment. Hasn’t been easy but they are keeping a great outlook and Beth is one of the strongest women I know.”

The couple’s new show, “Dog’s Most Wanted,” is set to premiere in October.
